Remodeling
Well if you remember I posted a few weeks ago that we had decided to paint the floor through out the house, well I am happy to say that we have gotten all of the floor painted minus the kitchen and laundry room. We have been very busy over the past few weeks doing that along with my mother and our jobs and then my husband had inventory at his job this past Tuesday which meant he was at work a lot more than usual and some of the painting and moving of furniture I did on my own. I do have a few pictures for you to see, but will post more when we get everything settled. Here is a picture of what the floor look liked before
This is the kitchen floor and here is a picture of the dining room floor before
If you look closely you can see where we filled the holes where the carpet tack strips were at and then we painted it a chocolate brown and then while it was still wet we put the paint specks down and here it what it looks like all finished
As you can see it is a pretty nice floor now. I will take pictures when everything is in place and we are all done moving stuff around and we are settled.
So now you know what I have been doing instead of posting on my site I do have lots to post about.
My mother is still in the rehab center she is doing ok, she is still on a ventilator and they are weaning her off of it and her vital signs are good but mentally she is not doing that well. My husband and I have been moving her out of her house and into our house and putting a lot of her stuff in storage so if she does get better and she is able to live on her own again she will have some of her belongings and stuff. If you are a praying person I am asking that you pray that my mother will get better.
Well we are back at it, I will post more pictures. I am excited about getting everything done. Oh I did forget to metion that my husband has painted the outside of the house and I will show
Garden
Our tiller has been in the shop due to it not starting when we tried to till the garden plot after we fenced it in. Well we got the tiller back on Monday night and I tilled the garden plot Tuesday afternoon, I am very excited about getting veggies in the ground and growing and having lots of fresh veggies.
Garden plot before tilled, just a reminder of how big it is.
Our citrus trees are recovery from the freeze that we had a while back, our blueberries have lots of green berries on them and we are keeping an eye on them so we can get them before the birds. The grapevines are turning green with all the leaves on them. We are happy that everything is coming in so nicely.
Our Growing Chickens
Well our little chicks are growing everyday and they are so big;
You can see them in the back left corner, they were camera shy that day.
You can see again how big they have gotten. We now have 12 more chicks and we are getting more excited waiting on fresh eggs. They are not big enough to produce eggs yet, but before we know it our fridge will be full of fresh eggs.
Update
I posted about my Mom in an earlier post, I am happy to say that she is doing better. She is out of ICU she is still on a ventilator so she has been transferred to a vent weaning hospital. The rehab center her first day there had her sitting on the side of the bed at 8 am in the morning, I was so happy to see that my Mom had the strength to hold herself up and did not need any help. It has only been two days since she was transferred to the rehab center and she is doing better everyday, when she was in ICU she was unable to write her needs down and she was unable to mouth any words and now she can write her needs down. She is unable to talk due to her being on the ventilator. She is doing much better.
I am thankful for the small recovery that she has made.
Sad Times
I know that I have not posted anything in about a week, but if you read the post that is titled “Thankful” you will read the problems that my mother was having; well last Sunday ( March 18) I recieved a call from the hospital that stated my mother had stopped breathing and that they had to put her on life support and that she was going back to ICU. She has been on life support for over a week now and has not been very responsive to us. The doctors are now talking about putting her into a rehab center to try and get her off life support, I am very nervous about this move. These last two weeks has been stressful on us (my husband & I), we have gone over to my mother’s house and have starting to move her stuff out of the house and put it in storage due to the fact I know that she will probably never be able to live by herself again, so we have been preparing for her to come and live with us. My mother has always been the one who picked my daughter up from school everyday, so with out her my husband and I have been juggling our work schedules so we are here at home when she gets off the bus. It does not look like my mother will be home for a really long time. Today is going to be a stressful day on me as I am going to the funeral home to make plans just in case this situation with my mother does not turn out the way we would like for it too, I know in my heart that I am doing the right thing but I feel like I am saying that my mother has no chance of getting through this. I just don’t want to deal with funeral plans if she does pass along with everything else.
Please be patient with me over the next few weeks if I am sporadic with posting stuff, I do have a lot to post about just have be a little tied up with my mom.

Chicks
Well I posted last week that we have chicks, I am proud to say that they are growing like weeds and we moved six of them over to the big pen. I am sad to say that when we did that we lost three of them due to the outside dogs tore a hole in the pen and got to them and killed three. We have gotten rid of one of the outside dog, hopefully the other dog will leave them alone; so far so good. We have had to get on to her for going near the pen so we are hoping she is learning to stay away from them. We will be purchasing more as soon as the other 6 move out of the smaller pen, but we will not do that until we are sure the dog will not try to kill them.
Beekeeping 2
Well if you have been following my blog you will know that beekeeping is something I have been wanting to do, well the gentleman who helped me set this site up and his wife and myself went to a beekeeping class yesterday. I had fun, I was like most people when it came to bees I was scared that I would get stung if they were around, well that is just not the case. I learned a lot about how bees work and I also got to go out to a hive and try some honey straight from the hive and even got to “pet” the bees and they were all over my hand just scoping my hand out. I never got stung, I was calm and and when I wanted them off of me I just brushed them off and they went back to the hive. I want to keep bees more now than ever before. I know I still have a lot to learn and my friends already have a hive that they got from someone so they are almost ready to get bees. I am excited on this new journey of mine. Of course bees are two fold for me, they will pollinate all the grapes and the garden and then they will give us wonderful golden honey.
Thankful
I am very thankful that my family, meaning my husband, our daughters, and myself are all healthy. My mother went into the hospital a week before Christmas and she spent a week in there, then when she got out she starting complaining that her foot was hurting her and when she told her doctors about they could not seem to find anything, so she went to a foot doctor and that doctor did some test and found at that time she had two very serious infections and to top it off they were antibiotic resist, so not just any antibiotic would do she had to have one with very serious side effects. Then about half through that treatment the doctor discovered my mother had no pulse in her foot so they did a test and found out that my mother had no circulation in the lower part of her leg so when they tried to remove the blockage they found that the blockage was from her knee to her ankle and they were going to have to do a bypass. The bypass was done last Thursday and she has been in ICU ever since. She is doing good with everything she is going through, but all of this did get me thinking that everyone in my household is healthy and safe and for that I am truly THANKFUL.
